The 3Es of Social-Emotional Development is our evidence-based, community-informed training program designed to promote healthy child development and mental health while also nurturing children’s early relationships. Our research is based on more than 20 years of research by Dr. Tina Malti and the CCDMP team focused on the roots, pathways, and consequences of kindness and aggression in children, with an emphasis on the role of environmental adversity in harmful and benevolent orientations. Our courses are developed for parents/caregivers, educators, and anyone working with children based on our findings and consultation of the community. Each course also provides strategies and resources to support parent/caregiver and educator well-being because we understand that to support the child, their parents/caregivers and educators must be supported as well. What to expect Our training approach is centered around promoting knowledge, practice, and routine.

  1. Knowledge: Learners expand their knowledge on developmental, rational, and clinical knowledge of social-emotional development and growth.
  2. Practice: Learners are given opportunities to reflect on their learning, share experiences, and practice strategies with real-life examples.
  3. Routine: Resources and follow-up sessions support learners’ continued learning and provides support even after the course is completed.

Each course includes:

  • Three modules delivered weekly over three weeks (with introductory and follow-up sessions before and after the training). Every module includes a session to be completed on your own time, and a live online group session.
  • Certificate of Completion from the CCDMP at the University of Toronto Mississauga.
  • Access to downloadable resources through our learning management system for up to one year after your last day of training.
  • Opportunities to connect with your fellow learners and peers.

The 3Es training program continues to grow so be sure to check back often for new and future training opportunities!
